My own grief process lately has led be to re-find Tara Brach’s teachings and her sweet, kind wisdom.

In this video she refers to becoming an apprentice to sorrow, deepening on the path to freedom. Freedom sounds pretty nice when grief can feel so heavy and in charge.

She reads a beautiful poem by John O’Donahue and offers a guided meditation using RAIN (recognize, allow, investigate and nurture) which really can be used for attending kindly to any difficult emotion. In fact I tend to guide people in very similar ways, so she must be on top something!  Here is a longer version of her talk.

May you be at ease

May you be healthy

May you be free from suffering

May you rest in goodness

If you need support with grief, anxiety, depression, life transitions including post-partum, I am accepting new clients.
